The Agricultural Marketing Authority wants to establish a comprehensive Agricultural Information Repository System (AIRS) covering sector regulation, data management, value chain financing, farmer registration, compliance management, market linkages, information dissemination and performance monitoring. The platform is to be centralised and reachable through USSD, SMS, WhatsApp, mobile devices and web interfaces, operating both online and offline. Its users would be farmers, contractors, merchants, financial institutions, insurers, input suppliers, government agencies and other agricultural stakeholders.
