The Ministry of Mines and Mining Development is kitting out geological field teams. The bulk of it is hand equipment: 20 geological hammers, 30 hand lenses, 20 compasses, 30 magnetic pencils, two packs of streaker plates and two boxes of sample bags. Mixed in is a substantial amount of electronics — 10 Canon digital cameras, 10 Garmin GPSMAP 65s handhelds with TopoActive mapping, 10 external hard drives at 1TB, an A3 scanner, a heavy duty multifunctional copier, a digital scale, a portable XRF machine and a drone carrying ground penetrating radar. The XRF unit and the radar drone are the two items that will dominate any price. Delivery is to the Ministry at the ZMRE Building, corner Leopold Takawira and Kwame Nkrumah in Harare, within 7 days. The description states that pricing is in ZWG and that bidders must attach a vendor number. Funding is the Treasury regular budget allocation and quotations stay valid for 30 days.
