Assignment of Functions (Minister of Lands and Rural Development) Notice, 2026
The President has assigned the Land Acquisition Act, Communal Land Act, Land Commission Act and seven other land laws to the Minister of Lands and Rural Development.
The President has assigned to the Minister of Lands and Rural Development the administration of ten Acts, plus any functions conferred on that Minister by other laws, except where assigned to another Minister.
The Acts are the Agricultural and Rural Development Authority Act (jointly administered with the Minister of Agriculture, Mechanisation and Water Resources Development), the Alienated Land (Information) Act, Communal Land Act, Gazetted Land (Consequential Provisions) Act, Land Acquisition Act, Land Commission Act, Land Occupation Conditions Act, Land Survey Act, Land Surveyors Act and Land Tenure (Repeal) Act, 1979.
The notice repeals the 2023 assignment to the Minister of Lands, Agriculture, Water, Climate and Rural Development (S.I. 203 of 2023) and the 2026 assignment under the same name (S.I. 95 of 2026).
