Land Surveyors (Specified Local Qualification) Notice, 2025

Gwanda State University's BSc (Honours) in Surveying and Geomatics is now a specified local qualification for registration as a land surveyor.

Acting under section 18 of the Land Surveyors Act, the Minister of Lands, Agriculture, Fisheries, Water and Rural Development has declared the Bachelor of Science (Honours) Degree in Surveying and Geomatics granted by Gwanda State University to be a specified local qualification.

A specified local qualification is one recognised for the purposes of registration under the Act, so graduates of that programme can now proceed toward registration as land surveyors on the strength of the degree, rather than needing their qualification assessed as a foreign or unspecified one.

The notice adds the degree and institution to the Schedule of specified qualifications and does nothing else; the other requirements for registration — including practical training and examination where the Act requires them — are unchanged.
