Magistrates Court (Resident Court) (Triangle) Notice, 2024
Triangle has been designated a Resident Magistrates Court for Masvingo Province, so cases from the Lowveld can be heard there instead of only at Chiredzi or Masvingo.
The Minister of Justice, Legal and Parliamentary Affairs, acting under section 4(3) of the Magistrates Court Act [Chapter 7:10], has designated Triangle as a Resident Court for Masvingo Province.
The notice does nothing else: no fees, no new offences, no procedural change. Its practical effect is that a resident magistrate can sit at Triangle, cutting travel for accused persons, litigants and witnesses in the Triangle and Hippo Valley sugar estates area of the Lowveld.
No commencement date is stated. The notice was published in a supplement to the Government Gazette of 19 July 2024.
