Constitutional Court Calendar
The Constitutional Court's 2026 year runs in three terms — 12 Jan to 27 Mar, 11 May to 31 Jul and 7 Sep to 27 Nov — with the Christmas vacation running to 10 January 2027.
The Chief Justice, as Chairperson of the Judicial Service Commission, has set the Constitutional Court's sittings and vacations for 2026 under the Constitutional Court Act.
The three terms are 12 January to 27 March, 11 May to 31 July, and 7 September to 27 November 2026.
The vacations are the Easter vacation from 28 March to 10 May, the mid-year vacation from 1 August to 6 September, and the Christmas vacation from 28 November 2026 through to 10 January 2027.
Practitioners should note the court does not sit for roughly six weeks over Easter and for five weeks in August, which is the practical constraint on when a constitutional matter can be heard.
